We Are Not Meant To Do This Alone

Sometimes you cannot administer the medicine yourself.

Even though you know what to do, and how, and when, and why...sometimes you need someone to help you, to support you, to point you in the right direction, and to remind you of what’s good.
I struggled hard with myself last week. I struggled with all the same things you do: self-doubt, anxiety, impatience, perfectionism. I tried to work through it on my own, using all the tools that I know and teach. But the harder I tried to push through all alone, the deeper I sunk into the muck.

At last, I got on a phone call with a mentor. She didn’t tell me anything I didn’t know; she didn’t solve my problems. But the human connection with her and the support she offered gave me the strength I needed to move forward.

We are not meant to do this alone. We are not designed to face everything by ourselves (despite the overarching messages in our culture that say we should just “pull ourselves up by our bootstraps” already). We simply didn’t evolve as solitary creatures.

Winter can feel especially lonely, but remember: you do not have to figure it all out on your own.

Where do you need help with food? How do you need support with body image? What are you trying to push through on your own, to no avail?

I’m here for you. Leave a comment below or email me to let me know how I can support you.
